The Carolyn Donahue Spirit Award
The Spirit Award is the highest and most significant award that is given to the team that shows the most spirit on and off the water. The Spirit Award has special significance because it celebrates the memory, spirit, and life of Carolyn Donohue. In 1996, the Dubuque Dragon Boat Association dedicated the Spirit Award in memory of Carolyn, as she was the embodiment of our motto, “Friendship through Paddling.” She had the enthusiasm, the smile, the determination. She had the spirit.
